1. From Kyoto station to Kyoto International Conference Center

20-min ride by Karasuma Line, the Kyoto City Subway
Take the Karasuma Subway Line from Kyoto Station to Kokusaikaikan Station in 20 min.
5-min walk from Kokusaikaikan Station on the Karasuma Subway Line.

2-1. From Kansai International Airport (KIX) to Kyoto Station

These Kyoto-bound trains run every half an hour in the morning and evening and every hour during daytime hours.

b. 90-min ride by JR Rapid Service

Take the Kansai airport Rapid Service train to Osaka Station and change trains to a Special Rapid train for Kyoto.

c. 120-min ride by Airport Limousine Bus

Airport limousine buses will drop you off at selected destination in Kyoto for a fairly low price.

Transportation in Kyoto when sightseeing

There is an extensive network of buses, subways, and private railways in addition to tour buses and taxis linking almost all of the major sightseeing spots. 1-day free cards for the city bus (JPY500) and the subway (JPY600), and prepaid cards for them are available at various places such as the ticket machines of subway stations.

Kyoto also has a compact and flat cityscape, and many attractive sightseeing spots are positioned close together. Therefore, Kyoto is well suited for sightseeing on foot or by bicycle.
